This article explains the mathematics behind a stained glass window that I commissioned from glass artist Hans Schepker. Steve Jobs introduced the MacBook Air during Apple’s keynote address at the 2008 Macworld conference on January 15, 2008. The first generation MacBook Air was a 13.3' model, initially promoted as the world's thinnest notebook at 1.9 cm (a previous record holder, 2005's Toshiba Portege R200, was 1.98 cm high).

Abstract

Is there enough mathematics in your home? What visual aids do you keep on hand for that inevitable moment when guests want to know why you spend your life on mathematics? Feeling a lack in this area, I commissioned glass artist Hans Schepker to produce a window - from the fifth dimension? - based on an image that came up in my research. It turned out splendidly, and you can see it on the cover of this issue of MAA FOCUS.

The album has been mixed for 5. 1 Surround Sound from the original studio masters by Steven Wilson and is fully approved by Yes. CDs feature a completely new stereo album mix by Steven Wilson. CDs also feature an alternate extended “Dance of the Dawn” newly mixed from multi-track by Steven Wilson and five single edits. CDs feature a complete alternate album including “High The Memory” (unreleased studio run-through) and “Ritual” (live in Zurich, April 1974) with fully restored audio from original sources.
